I brought along an Obama t-shirt and every time I wore it I would have people of all nationalities comment that they were hoping he would win - "It is important for the world", I heard time and time again. I talked with Khenpo many times about my hopes for the election and although I wasn't able to knock on doors or make phone calls to get out the vote, I'd like to think my meditating on Obama on a mountain top in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery on the other side of the big blue marble didn't hurt:).
P.S. This is me and Sangye and I think he was really more excited about it than he looks in the picture (smiling for the camera is still somewhat of a foreign concept at Osel Ling).
